Last appointment (two weeks ago) my doctor said I was starting to dilate and he could feel Baby Manning's head, all was well...
So going into this appointment Todd and I were really ready to get things moving...
After going through all the routine stuff my Doctor began my exam...
I was happy to know that I'm dilated even more than I was last appointment...
But then the interesting news came...
My Doctor could not feel Baby Manning's head...
Concerned he asked the nurse to bring in the ultrasound machine...
After taking a peak we were informed that Baby Manning is healthy, strong, and good size...
However he is transverse...
In Layman's terms he's sideways...
Unfortunately this is bad news because he can't be born this way...
So....
My Doctor gave us two options...
One go ahead a schedule a c-section for next week...
Or schedule a small hospital stay where he will perform what is called an external cephalic version...
In Layman's terms he will manually try and turn Baby Manning around, therefore allowing me to have a normal delivery...
I really don't want a c-section and my Doctor said I was a great candidate for the external cephalic version...
He gave me the odds of 70-30....
This was his recommendation but said I could decide whatever I like...
So drum roll please.....
Monday morning bright and early Todd and I are heading to Labor and Delivery to try and get Baby Manning headed in the right direction...
Literally...
I have to admit this news was extremely unexpected...
And I'm trying to stay calm...
I know what's meant to be will be....
The procedure has me nervous but I know this is what's best for Baby Manning and Mommy...
So here goes nothing...
That's all for now...
Going to do lots of relaxing this weekend so I'll probably be absent from my blog...
Hope this finds everybody smiling,
Wish me luck,
